Dynamic Life by Matali Crasset for Campeggi
I have been searching for the perfect convertible sofa my entire adult life. I like to have guests, but I have always lived in apartments and houses that are big on charm and small on space. Not everyone in the United States super-sizes their living quarters, despite what the rest of the world thinks. If you do have a shortage of square footage, look to the Italians for solutions. In particular, the brand Campeggi, which specializes in sleeper sofas of such inventiveness that I am perpetually awed by their designers’ ingenuity. This is exactly the case with Dynamic Life, a new piece envisioned by French designer Matali Crasset.

Seven Piece Convertible Sofa is Lounger, Sleeper, and So Much More
Dynamic Life has a name that explains its very purpose. The upholstered sofa doubles as one or two settees, as well as a bed. It also has multiple armrests that double as occasional tables. How does it do all this? While the back is fixed, the seat is composed of seven pieces that fold over.
Fold down two sections to create a lounger that’s perfect for watching television. Fold down four if two people want to stretch their legs. The piece in the middle acts as a built-in armrest or place to rest small items—drinks, snacks, remotes, laptops, or phones. Fold down all the pieces for a large, flat sleeping surface that’s perfect for guests (whether announced or unexpected).
