Reimagined Radiators: Bathroom Trend
Bathroom radiators and heated towel rails provide a little luxury in the bathroom while also creating an opportunity to incorporate accent color or sculptural forms.
Designed by architect Victor Vasilev for Antrax, Flaps is a sleek radiator made from 3 mm thick recyclable aluminum plate. The smooth plates are interrupted by ‘flaps’ which function as heated towel rails for neatly storing away the towels without interrupting the radiator’s clean cut shape. Flaps is available in two widths and two heights and also as an electric version. It can be made in over 200 different colors.
Italian brand Tubes Radiatori’s Basics radiator line includes the Basics 14, a flexible series of towel warmers available in three versions – water, electric or mixed. The 14 mm diameter tubular elements are arranged horizontally at evenly spaced intervals in order to perfectly accommodate bathroom towels while providing a clean graphic appearance.
The Hot Hoop by designer Paul Priestman for Runtal is a compact radiator made up of a series of elliptical stainless steel tubes that curve seamlessly into a spiral to form a full circle. The tubes sit closely together, serving as a practical towel holder. Available in three different sizes, the Hot Hoop can be finished with a white or metallic powder coat or in mirror-polished stainless steel.
Designed by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez for I-radium, the Senso modular system of bathroom furniture combines the natural feel of wood with the comfort of radiant heating. Made using advanced technologies, the collection includes towel rail, hooks, decorative bands, shelves and mirrors, that all provide a uniform room temperature.
Axor’s freestanding Urquiola Partition heater is a multifunctional design combining a room divider, radiator, floor length mirror and a decorative ‘Clouds’ pattern. Detachable hooks for hanging bathrobes and towels are also available.
