Shhh: The Beauty of Quiet

Kirei has released Breeze Cloud and Contour Tile, two new products which are part of the Hyper Rhythm Collection, the first launch of Carnegie Acoustic Solutions.

Both Breeze Cloud and Contour Tile diffuse excess sound while looking fabulous.

Breeze Cloud seems completely “of the air,” but its appearance, especially at eye-level, gives off a definite aura of “waves at sea.” Imaginarily, perhaps a fish may even leap out? Even the product headline says, “Sail your way to superior sound.” These (above and below) are Breeze Cloud in Dusk.

Duck Egg seems an appropriately oceanic color.

These playful acoustic “clouds” create overhead moments of movement, texture, and color while enhancing any space with exceptional acoustics.

Sophisticated and intriguing, they play nicely with lighting and other ceiling elements, including HVAC systems.

Contour Tile is an organic, textural acoustic tile with stacking levels. This not only increases surface area, but it also creates an air gap to improve acoustic performance.

Each of these designs is available in over 35 PET colors. These can also be custom-printed with Kirei Ink, an option that allows for such things as, say, the remarkable and realistic beauty of botanicals or subtle and striking stonework.

Acoustic aesthetics as stylish as they are intriguing is one thing, but how about the materials used to make them?

Since Kirei is committed to diverting plastics from waste streams, all of their products are made from 60% recycled post-consumer plastics.

They check any number of sustainable certifications. Products meet or exceed CDPH standards for VOCs and are Red List Free and Declare Label qualified/certified. They also qualify for LEED and WELL building credits.

“Kirei focuses on high-performance materials and products that do little to no harm to the environment, but making our products beautiful is just as important,” says Dana Pucillo, Vice President of Acoustic Solutions at Carnegie.

“The value is creating a space where people are comfortable, can focus, and do not want to escape because there is too much noise. No designer should have to sacrifice any aspect of the design when selecting sustainable acoustics. The aesthetic should be timeless and the products should last, and these new, sophisticated products offer the best of both worlds.”
