Design Days 2024: Pop-Up by Bolon
3rings is reviewing some of the pop-up events that took place last week at Fulton Market Design Days 2024. Swedish flooring company Bolon showed its products with three other companies at the Four-Ground Pop-Up. It’s been a while since we’ve looked at this leader in recycled woven vinyl rugs—and the brand has continued to innovate.
In a Bolon video, Head of Sustainability Håkan Nordin explain’s Bolon’s continued commitment to incorporating a high percentage of recycled content into their flooring.
“Recycling is woven into everything we do,” the video states. In fact, the company has turned waste material into beautiful flooring and rugs since 1949—long before recycling or sustainability was integral to the design industry.
Currently, Bolon incorporates 68 percent recycled content into their products, which are fabricated in a factory with 100 percent renewable energy. “This results in production with zero climate impact,” says Nordin. Furthermore, the material Bolon uses comes from production waste from marble slabs and PVC products.
Bolon modern flooring includes geometric designs and contemporary colors. The Grand Graphic Collection includes Graphic Duo, Herringbone, and Gradient.
Bolon also creates incredible collaborations with notable designers, including Patricia Urquiola and MissoniHome.
