ICFF 2024: Crystal Stone Collection by Hadeland Glassverk
The Crystal Stone Collection by Hadeland Glassverk is exhibiting at the 2024 International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York. Hadeland Glassverk is one of a few Norwegian companies appearing at the fair as part of Inside Norway, an exhibition project established by the Federation of Norwegian Industries to promote Norwegian design and products abroad.
The Collection represents natural formations in handblown glass. According to Hadeland Glassverk, “These unique lamps take you to a world of ice formations, eroded cliffs, softly rounded rocks, and moving water.”
While their interesting shapes evoke patterns in the natural world, the six different glass colors (Clear soda, Grey, Cocoa, Olive, Teal, and Morning Red) bathe your room in in the various shades of light cast by the sun. Imagine awaking in your bedroom lit by Morning Red. Or relaxing in the warm currents of the ocean under a Teal pendant.
Established in 1762, Hadeland Glassverk is Norway’s oldest manufacturing company in continuous operation. Its Glassmuseum, the largest of its kind in the Nordics, displays a selection of objects created by Hadeland’s glass-blowers over the past 260 years.
Only an hour’s drive from Oslo, Hadeland Glassverk is like a small, charming village. At the heart of the operation is the glassblowing studio Glasshytta. Here glass is still blown using traditional methods. And there is an extensive production of wine glasses, as well as special designer goods and decorative projects.
