BDNY Preview: Ultrafabric’s Eco-Friendly Textiles

Ultrafabrics continues to set the bar for sustainable textiles.

Promessa textiels moodboard for four colors

Debuting next month at BDNY: an upgraded iteration of the brand’s renowned Promessa collection.

Promessa in shades of green

The promise of Promessa has long been recognized throughout the industry. One of Ultrafabric’s flagship lines, Promessa boasts 25 years as a go-to textile for applications requiring durability, versatility, and beauty.

The much-anticipated updates include new colors, a new recycled backcloth, and the removal of anti-microbial additives—a choice motivated by feedback from healthcare practitioners.

The eight new colors reflect biophilic imperatives, each of them based on nature’s palette with options like Desert Taupe, Olive Mist, and Lake Blue.

Shades of mint green and lake blue

The Promessa upgrade furthers Ultrafabrics commitment to environmental sustainability. As Director of Branding Nicole Meier points out, the new backcloth represents a significant step in meeting Ultrafabrics’ goal to incorporate a minimum of 50% rapidly renewable and/or recycled materials in its portfolio by 2025, as each yard of Promessa now has 8.3 recycled plastic bottles incorporated into the backcloth. Says, Meier, “Promessa embodies the Ultrafabrics offering perfectly: unrivaled haptics, performance, and beauty. In the same breath we never rest on our laurels and continue to innovate.”
