At NeoCon 2021: Five Faves for Fabulous Flooring

It’s a familiar line-up for Best Of winners in the flooring category at NeoCon 2021.

Rheo Morph (above and below), Gold winner for area rugs, is inspired by the way water touches us. The collection evokes the movement of rivers, capturing how they etch the landscape with their endless ebb and flow.

In the Broadloom category, it’s Mohawk once again. Gold winner Urban Shores continues the river theme with an abstract representation of an urban landscape, paying tribute to “some of the oldest cities… built near these waterways for transportation, energy, and trade.”

But it’s not a complete sweep for Mohawk in soft flooring. Shaw Contract’s Collective collection takes gold for modular carpet. Collective offers a subjective take on the idea of community and connection, “sharing a sense of unity that roots us in a positive spirit while letting our individual lights shine stronger than ever.”

Tarkett is first up in hard surface: Splash Speckled rubber tile takes gold. And this is hardly surprising, for who knew hard rubber flooring could be so fun? Here it’s a perfectly vivacious counterpart to the ripe temptations of fresh fruits and veggies.

Nor would this line-up be complete without an appearance from Armstrong. Rest and Refuge Rigid Core is an LVT product that’s a dead-ringer for wood. It offers an ultra-dense core with an attached pad for sound attenuation. Gold winner for Vinyl/LVT.
