At NeoCon 2018: Chief Accel Active Desktop
Manufacturer Chief is updating the sit/stand paradigm with the Chief Accel Active Desktop. Designed to make the sit/stand experience easier, more intuitive, and more versatile, Accel is a retrofit solution that enables users to convert any surface to a height-adjustable workstation.
Not only is Accel light, stable, and durable, it provides ample surface space, thus avoiding a common pitfall of many height-adjustable desks: lack of space. To the contrary Accel's 46" wide and 22" deep primary work surface and secondary 40" wide x 10" deep upper surface facilitates the full range of accoutrements that accompanies workplace reality-coffee, books, notepads, sunglasses, keys, etc...
The dual desk design makes it easy to organize the space while leaving ample room for the user's arms, elbows, and mouse. Accel's diminutive 24" footprint works with the trend of shallower desks–and it repositions to the user's preferred standing and sitting work height with the touch of a button, facilitating optimal ergonomics.
Lastly, the up/down mechanism is the real deal. Accel's movement is seamless and clean-no wobbling or display vibration, which, according to Business Development Manager David Albright, was especially important in its development: "We heard feedback from users that current products on the market can leave them with an almost seasick feeling due to display vibration... We saw the opportunity to create a better experience with a really stable solution."
