Danny Fang
Dutchman Danny Fang cut his teeth (pun intended) working at Marcel Wanders Studio from 2000-2006. In 2007, he moved to Hong Kong and set up his own studio, producing designs that combine a timeless aesthetic with advanced technology. A fascination with strength led him to develop Pallet Table, which is "not trying to be perfect" and retains "a certain roughness."

Fang is always concerned with construction, as evidenced by The Gradient Collection, which features traditional wickerwork in a sturdy package: galvanized steel with outdoor powder coating along with polyethylene fiber.
2. Gradiant Lounge for Kian
For More Than Legs, Fang created Geppetto, a polycarbonate chair that takes inspiration from "the ingenuity of China's Ming dynasty furniture." Geppetto employs the technology of gas-assisted injection molding.

In the realm of lighting, Fang also pushes material boundaries. His Fandango, inspired by a flamenco dancer's whirling skirt, had to find expression in moldable fabric.
4. Fandango for Hive
Another deceptively simple, stackable chair, Louvre sought to break free of the plastic chair genre. Made of glass-enforced polypropylene, Louvre offers "the nostalgic feeling of coming home."
5. Louvre Chair for Kian
Using paper mache and paper pulping, Fang's newest lamp for Moooi features a "strong structure and incredibly light body." In Green, Natural, or Dark Blue, the lamp looks substantial despite its material-a lovely sleight of hand.
6. Salago for Moooi
