Terrific Teak: Hospitality Trend

Terrific Teak: Hospitality Trend

Ultra hardwearing , teak has a naturally oily finish that makes it highly resistant to moisture, fire, acid and alkalis. In addition to its durable properties, over time, teak turns an attractive silvery grey color making it the perfect choice for naturally beautiful, long-lasting outdoor furniture products.

Teak Curved Strap Chair by Blue Leaf Hospitality

With a rounded seat made from an aluminum frame woven with criss-crossing Batyline straps,  the new Teak Curved Strap Chair by Blue Leaf Hospitality makes an elegant addition to the patio.

The Finn outdoor furniture collection designed by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen and Kasper Rønn of Norm Architects for Design Within Reach is one of our favorite outdoor launches of this year. Made up of nine pieces, all with teak constructions, the collection is made by wrapping high quality textaline webbing around cantilevered, stainless steel rods.

Launched in January, the Grid Outdoor Collection from Gloster is an outdoor modular furniture system that comprises lounge seating and tables. Transforming the patio into a luxurious living room environment, the soft neutral upholstery of the modular sofa is combined with slatted teak, aluminum tray or stone tabletops.

With a solid aluminium frame and an undulating seat made from teak slats that extend all the way down to the floor, B&B Italia’s Titikaka bench is both sculptural and ergonomical.

Cubico by Studio Pang and Deco

Italian decking manufacturer D©co partnered with StudioPANG this year to create Cubico - a modular furniture system for outdoor use. Constructed of Burmese Teak boards and white painted aluminum, Cubico is light enough to be moved around as desired and also resists the harsh conditions of prolonged outdoor exposure.
