Cappellini Previews its 2014 Collection
Luxury Italian furniture brand Cappellini has unveiled three pieces from its soon-to-be-launched 2014 collection.
Cappellini has unveiled new furniture designs by Jasper Morrison and Nendo, and a re-release of Shiro Kuramata’s 1968 Steel pipe cart.
Chiming with our recent kitchen trend post on contemporary tea carts, Cappellini are relaunching Shiro Kuramata’s 1968 Steel Pipe cart. Echoing the curves of his 1982 ‘Sofa with arms’, Kuramata’s Steel Pipe cart has a refined aesthetic and clear function. Available in white and black color ways, the cart has a powder coated structure, white laminate top and chrome and gray plastic wheels.
Available in solid ash, natural, walnut, wenge and ebony, Nendo‘s low Peg table is designed with clean and accentuated curves. The Peg table joins Morrison’s Peg chair as an extension of this successful line, which Cappellini and Nendo plant to extend further in the near future. All the table’s edges are rounded and the legs protrude through the table top, perpetuating the distinctive design detail that characterized the Peg chair.
The Cap Chair 2 is a natural evolution of Jasper Morrison‘s existing Cap Chair, which was introduced in 2013. Lower than its predecessor, the Cap 2 Chair brings the relaxed atmosphere to the meeting room. Classic yet contemporary, the understated armchair is upholstered top to toe in leather with sweeping arms that gently curve outwards to create an inviting seat.
