Lumio by Max Gunawan
Designed by Californian architect Max Gunawan, Lumio is an expandable and portable lamp made from Tyvek and FSC certified wood.
The Lumio resembles a hardback book with a wooden cover that folds out into a spectacular concertina lamp.
Available in maple, cherry or walnut, the portable lamp has a core made up of high output LED lights that are powered by a rechargeable battery that lasts 8 hours.
The Tyvek pages automatically light up when ‘opened’ and get brighter as the wooden covers are pulled further apart. Once open the lamp is held in position with a system of concealed magnets.
The design is totally adaptable and can be used outdoors, indoors, on a table or as a pendant.
