Benasal armchair by Studio Expormim
Originally designed in 1982, the Benasal has been redesigned for 2013 by Spanish brand Expormim.
Made in rattan, the chair’s timeless design looks as current today as it did 30 years ago when it was first produced.
Benasal’s structure, seat and backrest are all made from various thicknesses of natural, peeled and tinted rattan.
Renowned Spanish designer Jaime Hayon is a big fan of the classic design after spotting it on Expormim’s booth at the Feria Habitat trade show in Valencia last year. Hayon, who now owns his own Benasal chair, comments: “It is a fantastic piece. What I like the most of this armchair is that within a rattan furniture it is super modern, for its formal and structural combination. In the leg converge three different parts of the structure that join together from ahead. I always like the special structures and this armchair is a clear example of this".
