Founded last year, Teknion Studio is a sub-brand of Canadian furniture manufacturers Teknion Corporation that’s dedicated to creating contemporary office furniture. At NeoCon 2013 last week, the Toronto-based brand debuted the first ever Teknion Studio collection as well as the results of exciting new collaborations with B&B Italia and Suzanne Tick.

At NeoCon 2013, Teknion unveiled the results of collaborations with Jeffrey Bernett, B&B Italia and textile designer Suzanne Tick.

Designed by Jeffrey Bernett, founder of CDS located in New York, and his long-time associate Nicholas Dodziuk, the new Teknion Studio collection includes the Keel lounge chair, Spectrum seating system and Fractal seating – a modular seating system designed to support the worker and groups of team-based workers in open and collaborative environments.

The B&B Italia Project Collection is a new line of coordinated tables, chairs, high-end casegoods and soft seating that are the result of Teknion’s new partnership with Italian brand B&B Italia. With products manufactured in Italy as well as in North America, the partnership will allow for shorter lead times and faster delivery, making the B&B Italia Project Collection more responsive to contract client needs in the North American market.

Pieces include the Cloud Sofa by Naoto Fukasawa –  a series of linear and curved benches with a chromed tubular steel support frame  and upholstered foam cushions in fabric or leather – and the Tulip chairs – a revolving chair conceived for lounges and waiting rooms and an armchair for meeting and dining rooms, for guests or hotel rooms.

The brand also debuted Teknion Textiles’s first collection - called Surface Tension the debut collection has been created by Suzanne Tick to bring a broad range of sophisticated fabrics to the market.
