The sturdy Homework desk by young Slovakian designer Tomas Kral features a handy cast aluminum collar for storing desk clutter such as documents, papers and photos.

The folded aluminum trough that lines Tomas Kral’s Homework desk can be used for storage and display.

An aluminum cloth is placed over an ash frame table and then folded down around the edges to form a storage trough. Sandwiched in-between the ash desktop, the trough functions as a shelf  for propping up books and displaying photos and provides extra storage space for hiding away clutter.

About the designer: Born in Slovakia, Tomas Kral completed his design education at the prestigious L’École cantonale d’art de Lausanne (ECAL) in Switzerland. Working with a diverse range of materials and across the categories of lighting, product, furniture and accessories, Kral’s work has been exhibited in galleries around the world and has won him an array of awards such as the Swiss Federal Design Award in 2010.
