Herman Miller’s Caper Chair
Though on this particular gray and cool-decidedly wintry-late December day, I wouldn't typically think of busting into a spontaneous leap of joy, Herman Miller's Caper Chair has got me contemplating just that. The new multi-purpose task chair, named for the lighthearted leap common to habitual optimists and assorted woodland creatures, rightly deserves the moniker: it's light, lively, adaptable… full of Spring sunshine, if you will.
Caper Chair. Designed by Jeff Weber. Manufactured by Herman Miller.
Herman Miller's Caper Chair is Vivacious and Versatile
Caper, "a family of nimble, stylish chairs that make moving easy and brighten up a room," will have school administrators and office managers grinning from ear to ear. Designed by Jeff Weber as a hardworking solution to breakout areas and multi-use spaces, Caper is possessed of a bevy of features that make it durable, ergonomic, and adaptable to any work- or school-related demand.
The chair is exceptionally mobile: its lightweight construction makes it easy for even a First Grader to mover from point a to point b; its inherent stackability (six-high on the floor or 15-high on the Caper Cart) means it's a snap to stow and unveil as conditions demand; and multiple stylistic options make it a people pleaser, no matter the age or body composition of the user.
As to this last point, Caper expresses its adaptability in the form of pneumatic seat height and tilt-tension adjustments; your choice of casters, standing glides, or Herman Miller's patented Floor Saver Glides; and versions with or without armrests.
Caper is also "Human Centered," meaning it sports several ergonomic features that make sitting easier on the old bones: a contoured flexible seat and back for even weight distribution, a plethora of perforations to help keep the user cool, and an option with FLEXNET, "a strong, breathable suspension material that enhances comfort and distributes weight evenly."
Lastly, and like all of Herman Miller's products, Caper is environmentally-friendly. It's constructed of 21% recycled material and it's100% recyclable. Caper also follows the McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) Cradle to Cradle Design Protocol. The line is Greenguard certified and may contribute to LEED credits.
