Jean Prouvé by G-Star RAW for Vitra

As an influential face in modern design, amongst the likes of Norman Foster, French Modernist Jean Prouvé has been relatively unknown to the general public but highly sought after by design houses and museums.

Prouvé’s designs have been given a fresh coat of paint, so to speak.

G-Star and Vitra worked together for two years on this creative endeavor to add a contemporary feel to his iconic pieces. 17 classics have been revitalized in the new Prouvé RAW collection, while maintaining his legendary vision. Items such as Fauteuil Direction and the Standard are quintessential Prouvé, set in a new era.

Clean lines, unique angles, and a modern look, it is no wonder the work of Prouvé stood the test of time. A personal favorite of mine is the Fauteuil Salon.

It is effortlessly chic and sophisticated, while maintaining an air of humility. I am instantly drawn to the curves of the seat, and to the back legs. The signature triangle shape is the epitome of Prouvé style, and it suits this piece well.
