Brizo Isn’t Bashful About Their Fabulous, Functional Solna Faucet
Brizo gets right to the heart of their new Solna kitchen faucet design with characteristic Nordic concision and an even more characteristic sans serif font: “Sleek. Stylish. Scandinavian. a northern accent.” Solna might be modeled on the look of Scandinavian furniture, as Brizo says, yet the piece would certainly pass muster beyond those rarefied latitudes, providing an appropriate accent not just for points North, but points East, West, and South as well. Solna is sleek and stylish, as the ad says, but it’s also simple and deceptively functional. The design is of a classic sort with a simple cylindrical base and a shaft that telescopes up into a subtle, partially parabolic, and slightly elongated spout—fair enough and a fairly fine choice for a spare, contemporary look, but Solna conceals some trickery beneath its elegant silhouette.

A Telescoping Sprayer with MagneDock™ Technology
When I first read those words, try as I might I just couldn’t discern said sprayer within the exceedingly spare ensemble. As it turns out, that’s because one would have to fairly invert one’s head a full 180 degrees to gaze up inside the spout, where resides said retractable wand. An easier approach is to take a gander at Brizo’s product literature, where one is informed that “both the kitchen and bar/prep models feature a completely new ‘hidden’ pull-down spray wand held in place with MagneDock™ Technology, allowing Solna to maintain its clean, modern form when the wand is docked.”
The feature keeps things clean not only in the figurative sense, but in the literal one as well, since it eliminates the superfluous junction between sprayer and sink—always a spot for undesirable, hard-to-get-at build up. So the long and short of it is that Brizo’s Solna will help you to beautify in more ways than one. And with finishes in chrome, stainless, and brushed bronze, that potential for beautification is magnified three-fold.
