Great Sound Just Got Better with Acousticpearls by Kvadrat
Have you dreamed of having a bookshelf that opens into a secret chamber or a crazy big safe hidden behind a famous piece of art? For some reason or another we are fascinated with home interior facades that serve more than one purpose. The hip Danish design-textiles company, Kvadrat, understands our need for artful disguise on a mission. They’ve come out with colorful panels called Acousticpearls that stop the reverberation of noise in your space while looking like beautiful, simple decorations for your wall.
MONO. Designed by Kvadrat.
Since physics is at the core to the pure wool-covered panels – all at 4.5cm thick and filled with a shock resistant acoustic material according to ISO 354-2003 acoustics – the real differences between the models is less about performance and more aesthetic. To choose the perfect Acousticpearls panel for your project, three different products are offered in a range of design, layout and color options: MONO, DUO1, and DUO2.
Sensibly titled, MONO represents the Acousticpearls panel of one color while DUO1 and DUO2 contain two different colors. If you’re looked to lengthen, go for the wide panels with the taller, vertical blocks of a DUO1. If you want your space to feel wider, go for the horizontal, two-toned look of the DUO2. Whichever DUO you choose, the ratio of colors is 2:1. Additionally, STRIPE is a configuration of two colors that combines the monochrome panel with a 5cm thick stripe passing through it. Every kind of panel, regardless of which coloring combination of the 80 colors offered, comes in five different sizes.
The number of Acousticpearls panels required to be “white noise-canceling effective” in a given space is decided by both the volume of the room and the level of sound expected. Fitting perfectly against the interior walls in whatever combination suits your room, the panels are easily wall- and rail- mounted, or freely suspended with a complete kit that comes included.
Infuse Kvadrat paneling into your space, including your secret chamber – though a walk-in closet or corner office with a stereo system counts – and enjoy the splendors of amazing sound.
