PAD Outdoor’s In-Float-Able: The Multi-Tasking Lounger
From the pool to a lounge chair- literally. PAD Outdoor’s “In-float-able” pool lounge makes the transition from water to dry land easier than ever. It inflates and floats like a traditional inflatable pool float, hence the name. But unlike the raft, it metamorphosizes into a lounge chair by simply placing it on a frame. PAD Outdoor debuted “In-float-able” at the Dwell on Design show in Los Angeles with showroom partner FORD & CHING at the end of June.

The lounge chair is still in development, but just about ready for production. Fun and somewhat quirky, the piece is essentially a two-for-one – and rather comfortable I presume. The company also premiered their Pod planters at the Los Angeles show. Ultramodern and lightweight, they’re perfect for adding some color to your patio or garden and can easily be moved around too. Made from recyclable aluminum, handspun and finished with an exterior-grade powder coat finish, they are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The planters themselves are available in 6 colors (red, black, white, light-blue, yellow, and orange) and two styles (half skirt and full skirt). Stands are available in two different heights, enabling you to group them in infinite configurations. As beautiful and environmentally friendly as they are, we’ll admit to them being a bit on the pricey side at $158 a piece.
PAD Outdoor offers a different take on outdoor furniture with their reinterpretation of the classic-modern outdoor lounge (see Richard Schulz’s 1966 collection and TIDES). Though the general form remains the same, “in-float-able” is multi-purpose, easily portable, bright and fun. Made for lazy summer days of relaxing in the sun after a dip in the pool (or floating in the pool), the fact that it’s easy to store is an added plus. Their Pod planters are a great addition indoors or out – a touch of color for any space.
