Live Video at IIDEX, NeoCon Canada: Allsteel’s Ergonomic Acuity Chair
Good timing with Allsteel’s ergonomic Acuity chair, coming just after our review of Kimball’s Hum workplace inspired by cognitive ergonomics. While I do in fact love Hum (and will 100 percent specify Hum as my workplace when we move the Designer Pages / 3rings offices in January 2009), I don’t believe cognitive ergonomics would work for a comfy task chair. So I am happy to see plain body-inspired ergonomic design driving the Acuity.
You’ve probably read the article on Acuity by fellow 3ringer Joseph Starr, but now is a second chance to learn all the ins-and-outs (in terms of functionality) of the Acuity chair with Greg Dunlop, National Manager of Architecture and Design at Allsteel. Greg was even kind enough to give us a demo, although I’ll say he looked awfully comfortable while demonstrating Acuity’s various adjustment options… but you decide for yourself. Regardless, I’ll be looking to specify Acuity in January to compliment my Hum!
