Created for the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam, the Education Trestles by Studio Makkink & Bey are a clever series of modular tabletops, trestles and easels that join together to create a variety of different small study tables and drawing tables.
The Education Trestles by Studio Makkink & Bey are a clever and practical desking and table system for the classroom.
Shortlisted for the Frame Moooi Award 2012, the practical Trestle Tables are designed to complement the organization of workshops and studio sessions.
One or two trestle tables can be assembled with a larger tabletop to form a bigger table, and the longest table can be used as a horizontal or vertical easel. Depending on placement, one or two children can sit behind their easel. The metal ridge that is used to join tabletops, can also be used as a pencil and utensil holder.
The table tops, made of High Pressure Laminate (HPL) are available in various color ways. When not in use the tables can be disassembled and stacked on top of an organizing system, which forms a colorful display.
