Gù Chairs by Pinwu
Made from bamboo pulp, these paper chairs by Chinese design studio Pinwu are made in collaboration with local paper craftsmen.
The sturdy shell of Pinwu’s Gù chair is made from pressed bamboo pulp.
Called Gù, the chairs are made by craftsmen from bamboo paper making villages near the district of Yuhang who continue to produce paper from natural bamboo fibers. Now available in a variety of pastel colors including gray, yellow, red and green as well as classic white chair, the shell of the Gù chair rests on four turned beech legs.

About the manufacturer: Christoph John and Jovana and Zhang Lei are designers who come from three different countries and cultures. Since first meeting in Milan in 2010, they have been collaborating in Yuhang, China, developing a collection of products that combine contemporary design with traditional Chinese crafts.
