The Makers Collection by Pollack
recently released the Makers Collection, a unique group of textile works designed by artists who work primarily within fields other than textiles. The collection presents thirteen new fabrics, each of which brings inspiration from its artist’s original craft.
Pollack collaborated with five artists for the collection: Klaus Burgel, a jeweler and metalsmith who works with various metals to create unique brooches, rings, and other miniature sculptures; Liz Collins, a fashion designer and knitter recognized for her use of machine knitting to create works that are both inspired and embellished with controlled chaos; Nathan Craven, a ceramist and fine artist specializing in using ceramics as building materials and in making his own version of bricks; Katherine Gray, a glass blower who creates objects and installations from hand-blown glass than combine art with function; and Matthias Pliessnig, a furniture designer and wood worker who uses his skills as a boat builder to create interesting kinetic pieces from steam bending techniques.
The Makers Collection is available in Pollack’s showroom in Manhattan’s D&D Building, as well as showrooms across the globe. For complete showroom information, visit Pollack.
