Herman Miller 2013 Outdoor Collection
This year Herman Miller continues to expand its outdoor collection, which includes a range of lounge seating, dining, side chairs and stools, like the Air-Table, that pair with dining, meeting, and occasional tables.
Herman Miller’s growing outdoor program indicates the increasing importance of maintaining a connection with nature in residential and hospitality projects
New additions include Spun, a chair that could double as an art object in home offices or brighten up a poolside space. Inspired by a toy top, designer Thomas Heatherwick created a chair that sits upright when not in use, and rotates 360 degrees to provide a place to recline when on its side.
The new Paso Doble seating collection is also suitable for a range of settings. It incudes a chaise lounge and ottoman, stool, and dining chair designed by Stefano Giovannoni, who was inspired by the traditional Spanish dance, the paso doble. The chairs’ stackable, lightweight structures are made of roll-formed aluminum rails and flexible polyester-polymer mesh.
