Inspired by Clouds: Undulus by Scott Jarvie
Scott Jarvie is undoubtedly a designer with his head in the clouds. His Undulus modular lighting system takes its cue from the sweeping undulations of cloud formations. And just like clouds, sometimes there are only a few and other times there are many: Undulus is a single unit that can be paired with other pieces to create a broad spectrum of linear and geometric arrangements.

Modular Lighting Capsules Offer Infinite Possibilities
Undulus provides both directional and diffused light using fluorescent tube bulbs. Low-cost, energy-efficient, and long-lasting, fluorescents have their advantages. Within the modules of Undulus, these bulbs create nebulous glowing forms. Reminiscent of clouds, as well as waves and orchids, Undulus offers a sophisticated and sinuous silhouette.
Available as a horizontal or vertical pendant, wall, or floor lamp, Undulus changes its identity depending on its position. Hanging vertically from the ceiling, Undulus is a futuristic stalactite. The floor model resembles a torpedo. And the horizontal pendants lined up in a trio look like zeppelins.
About the Designer: Scott Jarvie is a young Scottish designer who graduated from Glasgow’s College of Building and Printing and Napier University’s School of Design and Media Arts. The son of a graphic designer and an automotive engineer, Jarvie perhaps inherited his eye for design from his parents. Whatever the source, Jarvie’s aesthetic is exceptionally functional and supremely inventive. Among other products, Jarvie has created Cling Dispenser, a kitchen gadget that stores and dispenses plastic wrap, and Bower Table, a thermoformed acrylic table.
