The Chad Bed: An All-Inclusive Virgin Islands Design by BOA
The company founder of Object Interiors goes by BOA. After working in different media over the years, this School of the Art Institute of Chicago graduate – who grew up on a national park in St. John of the US Virgin Islands – she designed an environmentally-friendly bed that’s destined for greatness.
Chad Bed. Designed by BOA.
Named the Chad Bed, it’s like the all-inclusive resort of the bed industry. With a platform height of 12″ and four ultra-deep 34″ self-closing drawers that are divided into 6 different compartments built into the base of the frame, this structure is the focal point of any room. The Queen measures in at 72″W x 88″L x 38″H while the King expands to a grandiose 88″W x 88″L x 38″H. In this example of the Chad, the drawers are done in a white lacquer in order to provide easy sifting with a noiseless background while the wood is a macassar ebony.
BOA’s design aesthetic is heavily focused on nature. The Chad bed comes in 8 different wood options, with drawers in either wood or water-based color lacquer. The base of the bed comes in either a brushed matte steel, stainless steel, or polished stainless steel to give it a modern feel.
In order to treat their clients with the utmost respect, Object Interiors maintains a small boutique firm mentality that always connects one-on-one with the needs and desires of the individual project. They can custom-engineer your project and say that their vision is “to create furnishings and objects that inspire the spirit”.
Likely to accomplish exactly that, BOA states – via apartment therapy – that “this bed was originally conceived for a self-proclaimed shoe-horse who had a bedroom with very little storage. The challenge was to design an eco-conscious piece that possessed copious storage but didn’t appear chunky.”
