Plains and Pods by Landscape Forms & Industrial Facility
Plains and Pods is a system of outdoor seating that gives the client the option to create varied outdoor spaces where people can meet, communicate, think, lounge, picnic, or play. This combined system by Landscape Forms and Industrial Facility is perfect for the new world of lush office parks, where employees and clients can be outside to create or relax.
The minimalist style of Plains and the curvatures of Pods also work for outdoor seating on rooftops where the furnishings become a vehicle for enjoying spectacular views of mountains or plains.
The Plains by Landscape Forms are seating made of weathered wood in simple planks, often incorporating powder-coated metal for legs, backs, or small mounted plates to hold whatever is needed at the moment.
Plains are offered in four widths, each with short and tall heights. Also incorporating optional metal backs and side tables, Plains modules create diverse installations with a level of detail only rivaled by custom solutions. Plains can branch, network, stair-step, overlap, crisscross, create runs, and more to enable the full freedom of design in three dimensions.
Pods are curvy chairs or round planters created by Industrial Facility for Landscape Forms. Rounded rectangles and squares ranging from individual to communal, Pods seating modules are crafted from bent and powdercoated sheet metal for their bases and naturally weathering wood caps for the seats.
The Pods short planter modules mirror the shape and scale of the seats, while tall planter modules add height and a tiered effect to installations. The Pods planters add greenery to the stark and bare pieces of Plains, just as a grouping of cottonwood trees relieves the tedium of a prairie landscape. Together, these two collections can be used in any public space, beckoning people to sit outside and enjoy what the environment has to offer.
