Anthros Work Chair
Is the future about looking forward? Or is it about taking ideals of possibility and implementing them into the here and now? Either way, the Anthros Chair is a welcome work chair for today and tomorrow.
The company worked backwards to build Anthros. It could be said they didn’t even have this idea on the horizon.
Mostly rooted to wheelchair seating development (wheelchair users are the most complex sitters on the planet), the Anthros team kept meeting physical therapists, occupational therapists, wheelchair seating technicians, assistive technology professionals, and even gamers at conferences. These people would sit in their designs and say, “I wish my office chair felt like this!” Out of need arises potential.
Anthros offers toned-down chair designs for home office and work environments, but the Anthros Custom Gaming Chair, with a back image resembling the inner workings of a central processing unit, makes this chair seem wonderfully out of this world and not of this time.
High in research, data points, and science, Anthros is “the most comfortable chair on the planet.”
It wins out over other chairs like the Humanscale Freedom, X-Chair, Herman Embody, and even Herman Miller Aeron. (Anthros has results to prove it, thanks to a Cushion Pressure Distribution test conducted by the University of Pittsburgh.)
Anthros is the only FDA-registered chair on the market. Arm rests are four dimensional. Optimal “tiltability” (which, yes, is a thing) has been considered.
They’ve tossed “ergonomics” (which apparently means little) in favor of their own word, “anthronomics,” a mash-up of the understanding and application of biomechanics (science of movement), ergonomics (work law), and anthropometrics (human measurements), which means Anthros goes above and beyond to support the natural S-curve of the spine and your overall posture.
Is is really true one chair can correct posture, relieve pain, and enhance focus? Is it possible that when you feel better, you work better, and when you work better, you feel more confident about yourself and your life? Is it possible? Does a better you start with… a better chair?
