Sublime Sinks and More by London Basin
Mother/daughter team Anna and Nathalie founded London Basin on a simple premise: why should bathrooms settle for plain, white porcelain sinks when there are so many bright and eclectic design ideas available? Thus, London Basin is dedicated to bringing more life into the ordinary bathroom. The Madison Sink is but one example of the duo’s stunning oeuvre of basins and vanities.

Inspired by the splendor and elegance of the Art Deco era, the Madison basin’s rectangular profile has a sleek, streamlined look with a playful black and gold geometric pattern—adding more than a touch of glamour while nicely contrasting with the lustrous white interior. A decorative gold band around the rim adds the perfect finishing touch. It’s the ideal design for today’s contemporary interiors.
The London Basin Company produces all of its basins by hand. They are hand-thrown in a variety of shapes by skilled craftsmen using the finest porcelain, before they are pressed, polished, trimmed, dried, and smoothed to perfection. Craftsmen then apply a variety of techniques to achieve the company’s signature intricate decoration—from hand-painting to engraving—before firing them at 1,300 degrees up to three times in order to maximize their durability.
The company also offers a range of vanities. Hand-welded from steel, these are then powder-coated to provide a layer of protection against corrosion, chipping, and fading. The vanities are available to accommodate single or double basins. The company also manufactures taps in finishes to match or complement the basins and mirrors in different shapes. Here’s the handsome Hugo Vanity paired with the stunning Henrietta Sink, an ensemble that could be accused of anything except being plain.
The open style of the London Basin Company’s vanities make them ideal for guest bathrooms or powder rooms. It’s generally a lighter look that eschews drawers in favor of simplicity and style. To see more compelling basins and sinks, go to their website at londonbasincompany.us/shop.
