Salone 2024: Qeeboo’s Outdoor Furniture Is Sure to Turn Heads

New rounded shapes, different material, and a sense of sinking into comfort will gain lots of attention at Salone Del Mobile 2024. Two seating pieces by Stefano Giovanonni, designer and founder of Qeeboo, will encourage show visitors to take a load off their feet, relax, and enjoy the new seating components shown by Qeeboo at this year’s show.

Ghoda Chair

The Ghoda Chair, with its horse design, is a contemporary take on an ancient tradition. The Indian artist Satyendra Pakhalé created a “Bell Metal Objects series” in 2018 by returning to working with traditional materials and techniques. Ghoda Chair stems from Pakhalé’s iconic B.M. Horse, created in bronze.

Ghoda Chair detail

The collection of B.M. Objects was produced through a technique practiced worldwide for centuries, known as the lost-wax bell-metal casting process. Working with the Muria community in Central India, Pakhalé rediscovered this age-old craft. Refining the process, he skillfully combined design and ancient craft to produce a collection of contemporary design objects. Qeeboo has adapted his design, making it available to a wider audience by using polyethylene. The horse chair becomes the central conversation piece in an outdoor setting. Comfortable, yet lightweight at twelve pounds, it beckons guests to take a ride.

Nami Collection

The Nami Collection by Stefano Giovannoni is also new. Calling the Nami Armchair an armchair is charmingly misleading as it has no arms at all. Instead, it has a perfectly circular shape where the moldings that characterize its surface unravel from the center to its edges with a sequence of concentric rings. In the center of the armchair there is a channel for water reflux. It most resembles a large, relaxing inner tube, except it’s a land creature—one you can sink into.

Nami Collection

The Nami Sofa is characterized by a linear shape in the center that becomes circular at the two ends. The sofa nomenclature is also misleading. It’s more like a vessel, embracing its occupants in positions that bring them closely together. Nami Sofa comes in three colors and it too is constructed of polyethylene. Ideal seating for 2-3 people, Nami Sofa is a little oasis.
