Gradients of Color
Luis Gimeno of Barcelona created the Color Gradient table to showcase different woods and how their colors subtly transition from one to the next.

The formula here (from bottom to top) is beech, chestnut, oak, and black-stained chestnut, making for a kind of earthen color scale.

The piece also exemplifies Gimeno’s excellent woodcraft, with the pieces carved and shaped and polished in similar dimensions until they mesh together seamlessly—like a nice hug.
