New Wallpapers by Sergio Mannino Studio & Rollout
Architectural branding firm Sergio Mannino Studio has developed a new collection of wallpapers for Canadian company Rollout. The designs fall into four categories: Planks (vertical), Terrazzo, Bricks, and Planks (horizontal).
Mannino, an architect who previously worked with mid-century design masters Ettore Sottsass and Remo Buti, designed the collection with texture and pattern in mind. Planks (vertical and horizontal) comes in nine color combinations, including neutrals, green, pink, and blue. These colors complement the playful style of the wallpapers’ woodgrain texture, which is not meant to be a literal interpretation of wood.
Terrazzo reimagines the rock and concrete floor of the same name with variously sized organic dots. Available in six colors, including pink and moss, Mannino’s Terrazzo wallpaper brings a whimsical warmth to walls. According to Rollout, “The overall effect evokes a sense of being safely underground — as though in a bunker carved deep into the primordial rock.”
The Bricks wallpapers come in seven colors, including teal and dark sienna. Bricks features an expressionistic pattern of (you guessed it!) bricks. In black and white it resembles pop art, seemingly a perfect background for a Roy Lichtenstein work.
