This Lamp from Piet Hein Eek Definitely Fits the Mold
Piet Hein Eek’s One Mold Desk lamp is one of those quirky and endearing products that seems as if it could only have come from the Netherlands.
Not to say that the Dutch have a monopoly on things odd and entrancing, but they certainly have a knack for them.
One Mold is a product that comfortably inhabits 2021, but could easily make a home in 1968. It has a retro aesthetic—looking like a mini TV that plays a single program: illumination.
The lamp is made of ceramic cast with a colorful glaze (16 different colors). It’s offered as a desk/table lamp, but can also be hung on the wall as an up/down-lighter or suspended on a metal rod as a floor lamp.
And it’s handmade—each one is unique with slight variations in color and design on the glaze.
