House of Hackney’s new Sumatran Tiger Wallpaper is a classic motif with a contemporary message. Depicting a nature scene with the king of the jungle as its centerpiece, Sumatra evokes the untouched organic world yet also evinces the presence of man via the temple ruins situated nearby.
House of Hackney released Sumatra to commemorate earth day, reminding us that the actions of humanity have a decided impact. Sumatran tigers are endangered—principally because of deforestation and poaching—and the “Protect Our Species” theme is a way of bringing the issue to the fore: “by galvanizing a global movement that embraces nature, we can raise awareness of extinction."
The company is also doing their part to preserve resources. Paper is sourced from FSC-certified mills and prints are created with PVC-free, eco-friendly materials.
