Beetle Collection by GamFratesi for Gubi
The Beetle is expanding-from a solitary, beloved chair to an entire suite of insect-able possibilities. Created by the dynamic duo of Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, otherwise known as GamFratesi, for Scandinavian company Gubi, the Beetle Collection now offers endless customization.
From upholstery to shells and bases to colors, the Beetle Collection "has developed into a modular concept." People can add partial or full upholstery or choose their seating shell material.
Add to that an entire series of possible legs in metal and wood, with or without casters, in various finishes including bronze, and you've got a veritable infestation. In fact, the Beetle Chair is gracing the pages of design magazines here and abroad-and making its way to furniture fairs the world over.
The notable "furniture architects" behind GamFratesi were inspired by the beetle's plate structure. Their vision is fast becoming an "icon of the future" for Gubi, a company that both resurrects lost designs and paves the way for new ideas "worth coveting."
The Beetle Collection has many applications, but it works especially well in hospitality venues, where the customization lets it blend in with its surroundings. Get the bug!
