Reclaimed Lighting By GIN Art & Design
A record lover, I may be biased in my appreciation for the reclaimed table lamps created by Orlando Dominguez of GIN Art & Design. But I am not the only one-as evidenced by Ali Shaheed Muhammad of a Tribe Called Quest, who commissioned the tri-colored "Roots."
Using old 45 rpm records, Dominguez creates the base of his reclaimed lamps. The light source shines its light down upon the records. While the lamps with black records are certainly classic, it's the lamps with unusually colored records that stand out, especially those that use translucent discs.
Like all the work of GIN Art & Design, these reclaimed lamps embody the company's mantra, "conceptually designed, consciously made."
