Papillon Tub by Stone Forest
New in 2016, the NYCxDesign Awards celebrate outstanding design in architecture, interiors, furniture, lighting, and technology. Winners were revealed in May during a live broadcast at MoMa. One of the honorees in the Bath category is the Papillon Tub by Stone Forest.
Carved from a single block of granite, marble, or onyx, Papillon is a curvy oval tub whose delicate shape defies its monolithic construction. Its sweeping lines also give it a sense of motion, which explains its lepidopterological name (papillon is French for butterfly).
Each Papillon Bathtub is carved to order in one of six materials: black granite, Carrara marble, limestone, sandstone, silver travertine, and cumulo granite.
