Alexander Lervik’s Stools, Tables, and Chairs Are Lighter Than Air
Inspired by Thonet bistro chairs, which are known for their bentwood and perforated design, Swedish designer Alexander Lervik set out to create a collection of chairs with matching tables and stools for his Dimma collection for Tingest.
Working closely with a factory in Sweden, each piece was molded and manufactured using powder-coated steel. As a designer, Lervik is committed to sustainability and only works with skilled craftspeople who share a similar mentality.
For the stools, Lervik was inspired by bar stools commonly found in British pubs, but gave his designs a transparent feel that’s lighter than air thanks to perforations, which allow light to pass through, breaking up the design.
