Manufacturer Avenue Road recently introduced a new seating and table collection designed by French designer Christophe Delcourt. Comprised of a long table, two couches, and two different easy chairs, the collection demonstrates Delcourt's aesthetic versatility.
Classic Materials and Organic Forms
Perhaps most known for his use of raw materials-especially wood and metal-Delcourt maps out some novel aesthetic terrain in the Avenue Road collection. While the AMA Table highlights the unadorned beauty of natural oak, the DJE Chairs and IAN Bench demonstrate experimentalism and playfulness-somewhat new to Delcourt's repertoire.
The aforementioned AMA Table is lean, long, and elegant. Constructed of solid brushed oak planks atop a minimalistic base, the piece synthesizes a modern look with the classic appeal of unadorned wood.
In contrast, the DJE and IAN pieces are oversized and exuberant. Embracing the inherent playfulness and plushness of upholstery, all four of these pieces project bodily comfort, inviting users to relax and enjoy.
The DJE sofa and chairs feature bases of lacquered steel, while the IAN pieces are perched atop bases of polished brass. Avenue Road offers both DJE and IAN in a wide array of upholsteries. Additionally, IAN may be upholstered in the client's own material.
