Danish furniture brand Normann Copenhagen has introduced new Scandinavian-style oak trestle and table top designs that can be used separately or together to create an array of desk and table solutions.

Made from solid oak, the Buk Table Legs and Slice Tabletop have a simple Scandinavian design.

Designed for Normann Copenhagen by the Danish design studio Supershape, the Buk Table Legs consist of three round rods and a crossbar that can be easily assembled without tools. Two, three or more trestles can be used together depending on the length of the table.

Supershape says, “The idea for Buk came about because I wanted to design table legs, which firstly could be assembled without tools and secondly was only made of one kind of material. The fundamental element in the design process was the assembly of the table legs. I then had to refine and simplify the design until the perfect expression was achieved. The result is simple, Scandinavian table legs in an excellent quality.”

Equally simple in its design, the Slice Tabletop is made up of three long, wide soap-treated oak planks and is available in three different lengths. Designed in-house by Normann Copenhagen, Slice is characterized by fine spacing between the planks that add visual clarity while recalling the design of outdoor picnic benches.

Normann Copenhagen says, "With these types of tabletops you often see that the assembly is visible from the side or attached under the table so that it juts out. We wanted to make a tabletop with an innovative solution so that the tabletop appears as a unified whole. With Slice you can choose your own legs and thus the style. With three different lengths, this tabletop is useful for many different kinds of tables. The openings between the planks break the uniform surface adding lightness to the design. At the same time, oak is a lighter wood that fits in beautifully with a Scandinavian decor. ”
