Made from bamboo pulp, these paper chairs by Chinese design studio Pinwu are made in collaboration with local paper craftsmen.
The sturdy shell of Pinwu's Gù chair is made from pressed bamboo pulp.
Called Gù, the chairs are made by craftsmen from bamboo paper making villages near the district of Yuhang who continue to produce paper from natural bamboo fibers. Now available in a variety of pastel colors including gray, yellow, red and green as well as classic white chair, the shell of the Gù chair rests on four turned beech legs.
