Spanish designer Cristian Zuzunaga of London-based studio Zuzunaga has created Harlequin and  Deep Grid, two new luxury carpets for UK carpet manufacturer Brintons.

The Deep Grid and Harlequin carpets by Zuzunaga are pixelated versions of an antique carpet designs taken from Brintons’ archive.

When looking through Britons’ archive, Cristian was both surprised and inspired by the similarities between the historic carpets and his own contemporary designs -  squared, pixel-based designs and brightly coloured palettes of contrasting colors are evident in weaving and wool dying dating back centuries.

Using Brintons’ state of the art multicolour weaving technology and unique innovative design and digital imagery, Cristian has enlarged and reworked two of the ancient designs into a new vibrant, pixellated luxury carpets.
