Copper dominated this year’s London Design Festival as the material of choice for designers who wanted to add a warm and welcoming glow to metallic lighting and accessories. 

Hand-spun in Birmingham, Original BTC‘s Stanley pendant has a solid copper shade with a hammered finish.

Originally developed by Norwegian designers Amy Hunting and Oscar Narud for Fashion Scandinavia, an event held at Somerset House during London Fashion Week 2013, these freestanding copper, mild steel and stone mirrors are inspired by Norway’s historical mining industry.

The ‘Base Bowls’ by Chilean design studio Bravo! are made in Santiago using locally sourced copper and wood.

Thin copper sheet is scored and then folded into shape to create these multi-faceted pendant lamps by Dutch designer David Derksen.

Made up of sections of 0.4mm etched copper sheets, the Etch Shades by British designer Tom Dixon are inspired by the logic of pure mathematics.
