British designer Tania Johnson has introduced a new series of luxurious hand knotted wool and silk rugs called the Glass Collection.

Inspired by early morning photos of a window wet with dew, Tania Johnson’s Glass Collection is an examination of the unusual patterns found in nature.

Made up of six different designs, the rugs are a study of the movement of water and how it abstracts vision, by viewing nature through windows wet with condensation.

With its realistic quality, attention to detail and subdued palate, the Glass Collection blurs the boundaries between rug design and fine art.

Retail prices range from $110 to $240 per square foot. As with all the Tania Johnson Design rugs, the rugs in this collection are customizable.

About the designer: Founded by New York based, British born designer Tania Johnson in 2010, Tania Johnson Design specializes in custom made, contemporary, hand knotted rugs. Her rugs are inspired by the natural world and are hand knotted by artisans in Nepal using lustrous combinations of silk, wool and pashmina. After graduating from London's Royal College of Art with a Master of Arts in woven textiles, Johnson designed textiles for such top home brands as Martha Stewart, Chilewich, Vera Wang, and Calvin Klein Home.
