Ronde pendant lamp by Oliver Schick for Gubi
Launched at the Salone del Mobile in Milan earlier this year, the Ronde pendant lamp by German designer Oliver Schick for Danish brand Gubi is a stylish adaption of the archetypal bell-shaped lamp.
Inspired by the shape of a vase, the top opening of the Ronde pendant lamp by Oliver Schick for Gubi is folded outwards creating an overhanging ‘collar’.
Due to it’s double-ended design, the Ronde pendant lamp casts light downwards as well as upwards onto the ceiling. The name ‘Ronde’, meaning ’round’ in several languages, refers to the metal spinning technique used to make the aluminum diffuser, where a flat metal disc called a blank rotates on a lathe.
Ronde is available in matte white, pigeon gray, rusty red, anthracite and black finishes, and in two sizes – a 40 cm diameter and a 20cm diameter.
