Layered Lamps: Lighting Trend
Inspired by this week’s post about the new and innovative Levels lamp by Form Us With Love for One Nordic Furniture Company, we have compiled a list of five of our favorite tier pendants.
Smooth and sleek forms create minimal masterpieces such as Lightyears’ Concert P3, while different materials combine to create layers of postmodern color and texture as demonstrated on Jonah Takagi’s Silk Road lamp for Roll and Hill.
Apollo Lamp by International Studio: The layered shades of International Studio‘s modular Apollo lamp all have a varying number of perforations. The shades can be layered in a number of different configurations to create different intensities of light.
Compiled Lamp by Sebastian Jansson: The three elements of the Compiled lamps by Sebastian Jansson are made from archetypal table objects; a vase, a bowl and a basket. The result is a collection of surprising lamp designs that combine porcelain, rattan and wire.
Loop S Pendant lamp by Massari & Associates Toso for Leucos: Leucos‘s elegant Loop S pendant lamp features a tiered blown glass diffuser in gloss white. The offset structure gives the design a unique character and provides both upward and downward light.
Silk Road by Jonah Takagi for Roll & Hill: Layers of steel, glass and fabric are cleverly layered to create the sculptural Silk Road pendant lamp by American designer Jonah Takagi for Roll and Hill.
Concert P3 by JÑ—rn Utzon for Lightyears: The organic Concert P3 design by JÑ—rn Utzon for Lightyears is made up of four different glass shades. Ambient room lighting shines out downwards and upwards from between the shades .
