Brooklyn-based architecture and design studio Pod Design has recently created a super lightweight, ergonomic chair that is “engineered and fabricated to be extremely solid.” Also known as Black Swan, Sylki Chair weighs less than a bottle of wine.

Lightweight, Laser-cut Metal Chair

Constructed of laser-cut 20-gauge metal, Sylki Chair begins its life in two dimensions as a flat sheet. It gets folded into shape and welded to end up in the three-dimensional world where people can see it, touch it, and, of course, sit in it. At 17″W x 14.5″D x 18″Seat, Sylki doesn’t have a big footprint—though it does have a big impact.
