New Additions to the Vivid Palette by Shaw Hospitality Group

Inspired by natural dyeing processes, the the six new Vivid Palette carpet patterns by Shaw Hospitality Group are created using computer yarn placement (CYP) tufting technology. Woven, twisted and bundled, Shaw Hospitality describe the designs as “unpredictable, random and beautiful.”

A collection of six carpets with vibrant hues, lustrous fibers and luxurious texture all inspired by natural dyeing processes.

The six new public space patterns, launched at Boutique Design New York last month, are designed to complement Shaw Hospitality Group’s existing Vivid Palette print and tufted products which were launched earlier this year.

The designs are the result of product color experimentation that was carried out in partnership with students at Savannah College of Art and Design, who were set a brief to create original fiber art projects using natural dyed fibers. The techniques used by the students such as potato dextrin resist dying; fabrics created from folding, stitching and bundle dyeing with Osage orange and black tea; and an intricate weaving from the Costa Rican Cabuya fiber became pattern inspiration for the collection.

Maria Scott, Shaw Hospitality Group Design Manager explains, "We continued the textural exploration of this CYP collection by showcasing tufting technology to create striking cut and loop patterns."
