As a brand new company in 2010, TAO is an Italian-based design company that noticed a lack of beautiful, strong outdoor kitchen and shade systems available. Thanks to their newest releases during Salone del Mobile 2012, the company’s aluminum structures – the Open Bar kitchen system and the Open Air shade system – highlight their strength in developing minimalist designs with a user-friendly knack for innovation.

Aluminum Kitchen and Shade Systems Beautify the Outdoor Patio Space with Functional Design.

Mustering up the desire within us to have a home with a gorgeous backyard patio just so we can accent it with a highly-functional kitchen, the Open Bar is TAO’s latest outdoor kitchen design. Featuring an anodized or white lacquered aluminum structure, their new outdoor kitchen design comes with an integrated cover system. In fact, the cover is controlled by none other than a remote controlled motor that easily covers and exposes the below culinary space to the elements.

With a white or colored DuPont™ Corian® countertop surface, overhead LED lighting, and hook-ups to water, gas and electricity mains or portable units, the Open Bar kitchen also has a Japanese Teppanyaki grill or a standard grill to cook anything under the sun (literally). Measuring 36″W x 118″ (with sink) or 69″ (without sink) x 35.4″H, the kitchen unit can be accompanied by the Open Air system of a nearby dining table, if so desired.

The Open Air shade system fits over tables from eight to ten people and is extremely versatile, offering protection from the sun and rain, a heater and mister, LED lighting overhead, as well as resilience against strong winds through an anemometer security feature that activates to close the structure.
